Our vision at PS 144Q is one of a partnership of administrators, teachers, parents, school staff and students all working together towards the same goal.

To enable our students to seek their full potential by developing their academic, social and emotional skills.

Our Story

P.S. 144 is a vibrant school that is housed in a four story U-shaped brick structure built in 1931 and sits in a tree-lined area of Forest Hills.

Our educational program meets all of the NYS Learning standards requirements of literacy, mathematics, social studies, science and the arts. The integration of technology partnered with effective remediation, and enrichment, programs are all part of our goal in meeting the needs of all the students in our school.

Instructional Focus

To enhance student independence in reading and writing, P.S. 144Q will build teacher capacity to use MTSS, targeted small-group instruction, and responsive scaffolds to meet students' individual needs and support academic growth.

Our Philosophy

At P.S. 144, we are strong believers in recognizing student achievement in academics as well as celebrating the success of our students socially and emotionally. Our staff have been trained through different SEL programs which utilizes an exciting combination of physical, emotional and cognitive exercises to tap into our infinite brain potential.

We at PS 144 are committed to addressing the emotional, social and academic needs of every child. We recognize the importance of working closely with our administrators, teachers, students and their families, as well as with outreach organizations, as we strive to have every child achieve their potential.
