Class Parents

What is a Class Parent?

A class parent is the liaison between the teacher and the parents in your child's class. Among the responsibilities of the class parent are:

• Create and maintain the class list
• Facilitate communications between the parents and the teacher
• Organize volunteers and donations for class parties
• Collect class gifts
• Disseminate information from the Parents Association via email and a Meta (Facebook) or WhatsApp group chat.
• Moderate the class group chats to ensure that it is a safe and respectful space to share class/school related information. Class group chats are not the appropriate venue to speak negatively about anyone employed at the school or complain about policies you may not personally agree with; please direct group members to reach out to the school administration directly with any concerns or complaints. This is important to keep in mind as it applies to all members of your group.

 Each September the PA will reach out to parents asking for volunteers. This is a great way to become involved in your child's class and the school.
