Our Goals
The School Leadership Team (SLT) is a group of people who develop educational policies for the school. They also make sure there are resources to support those policies. The SLT will:
- Provide ongoing evaluations of a school’s educational programs and their impact on student achievement.
- Are responsible for developing a school’s Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP).
- Play an important role in school-based decision-making
- Help to make school cultures more collaborative.

■ Did we get approved for class size funding for the additional 2nd grade classes for
2026-2027 in the recent approval for class size funding?
■ I Ready - What are the expectations for IReady in each grade? 2 lessons math and
reading ?
■ Is there class time for IReady?
■ What is the benchmark of improvement we are trying to get to by June?
■ Is the increase time on IReady come from the district as like last school year?
■ Questions on the class size finding for next year. Requirements for existing
funding? 4th and 5th grade funding? Etc.
○ UFT Report
■ We will be having an election for staff for a new staff member to join us as Ms.
Gandelman is stepping off SLT.

*All meetings will be held at P.S. 144Q.
* Only School Leadership Team members can present and comment during the School Leadership Team meetings. Observers are welcome to attend all School Leadership Team meetings, however, are not allowed to speak or participate in any discussions. Should any observer wish to comment, a written submission to the School Leadership Team chairperson must be received one week prior to the meeting. After receiving the written request, the chairperson will consult with the School Leadership Team and the observer will be notified to speak at the following months meeting.
