What is GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement created in 2012 to encourage people to do good. This year it takes place on Tuesday, November 29.

 

Why Give to the PA?

80% of the PA's budget goes directly into the classroom, bringing enrichment programs to every child enrolled at P.S. 144.  These programs supplement the excellent work of our classroom teachers with offerings in art, music, dance, world languages, and STEM. The remaining budget covers community building activities (11%), school and classroom supplies/equipment (8%), and operating expenses (1%). The PA (entity name: PTA-P S 144 BORO OF QUEENS) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit (EIN# 11-6201843) so all donations are tax-deductible!

Why Give on GivingTuesday?

This is the best time to increase the impact of your donation to the PA of P.S. 144, thanks to several types of matches available. 

 

Facebook/Meta GivingTuesday Match:

Facebook will be matching up to $7 million in recurring donations pledged between November 15 and December 31 on a first-come, first-served basis (up to $100 per donor and $100,000 per non-profit). Non-profits across the country will be competing for these matching funds, so the sooner you make your recurring donation, the greater the chance that it will be matched! A recurring donation is a great way to make a valuable gift to the PA that fits comfortably within your monthly budget. A recurring gift of $12 per month pays for one child’s enrichment programs for the entire year. Corporate Matching:

Many employers offer matching funds for donations made on GivingTuesday. Please look into whether your employer offers this benefit. It is easy to set up and costs you nothing.
